Craftsmanship
The best artisans in the Himalayan region of Nepal exclusively and traditionally handcraft Lokta papers, using local labor and raw materials. Because they make these acid-free papers without electricity, no tree destruction occurs.
About Lokta Paper
Artisans prepare Lokta paper from the fibrous bark of the Daphne cannabina, known locally as Lokta, which grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas. They boil the bark and beat it with wooden mallets to produce a pulp. Then, they pour the pulp into wooden frames and sun-dry it. The resulting Lokta paper is strong and attractive, so artisans can dye, stencil, and print it into many beautiful paper products.
Note: due to the tie dye process, your design may differ slightly from the picture shown. However, we will send you a photo before packing.

This lampshade is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or as a statement piece in any decor.
